What is Ibuprofen Prescription? Ibuprofen, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), is used as a prescription medication in doses of 400-800 mg per dose for inflammatory diseases, rheumatoid disorders, mild-to-moderate pain, and dysmenorrhea.
