Research Scientist | Michael P. Massagli, PhD (University of Wisconsin-Madison, Sociology, 1984) joined the PatientsLikeMe team in June 2007. I'm a sociologist and social statistician. My previous research has focused on survey methods and measurement of health outcomes and patient experience of care, looking, for example, at factors affecting the quality of survey data, employment experience and health-related quality of life of persons with AIDS, impact of trauma on mental health and physical functioning in refugee populations, and patient perceptions of health care quality. |

It's my job to be sure that information entered by patients is accurately captured in our databases. This is important for many reasons, not the least of which is the need to be good stewards of the data entrusted to us by the patients who use our site. I've been a nurse for many years spending much of my career working with people living with the daily challenges of serious & advancing illnesses. I have two wonderful daughters, a terrific son-in-law and enjoy life on Cape Cod with my husband, Scott. |
