Also known as pseudobulbar affect, emotional lability refers to an exaggeration of laughing crying, or yawning beyond what the person feels. For instance, a person feels the same emotion as usual at a movie but the laughing or crying is louder, longer and difficult to control. This is caused by the disease and is not related to the patients' psychological or emotional states.
